Camping in a 911? Your favourite sports coupe could soon also double as the platform for a tent, courtesy of Porsche Tequipment.
This new tent will allow owners, Porsche states, to experience the “exhilaration of sports cars in a fresh way – in the great outdoors”.
Interestingly, you don’t have to own a 911 to install this tent.
The designers at the Weissach Development Centre and Studio F.A. Porsche in Zell am Se have designed the hardcase of the tent so that it can be installed on the Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan, both with and without roof rails.
Deployed, the roof tent will offer a total 210cm x 130cm of space. So, you and your partner better get comfortable.
Two side windows and a roof window come as standard. These also can be had with an insect guard and an additional black-out function to keep the interior dark.
There’s a high-density polyfoam mattress within, and this Porsche roof tent has walls made from a breathable cotton blend.
Water-resistant zips and a separate rain cover for entry help ensure usability in wet weather.
Interested? Porsche states that buyers will be able to opt for their roof tent in either Black/Light Grey, or a Black/Dark Grey hardcase, each of which is adorned with a matt black Porsche logo.
Deliveries to Porsche sales partners will begin in November 2022.
Additional optional Tequipment accessories including an inner tent, a heated blanket and a shoe and bag organiser will also soon be available.
Not sleeping outdoors? Perhaps this roof box for the Porsche Taycan is what you’re looking for?
