American business consultancy Frost & Sullivan has revealed that in the United States, there are now more (51 percent) female driving-licence holders than male, across all ages above 25. Canada will be next – currently, 49.95 percent of the country’s licensed drivers are female. In the UK, which is right-hand-drive like Singapore, the number of new driving licence applications from men have been declining, whereas those from women have grown by 2.5 percent in recent years. The same research has shown that women tend to choose their cars based on status, comfort and colour, and they’re more susceptible than men to celebrity endorsements in the luxury car market.
