Volkswagen has unveiled the first details of a new, adventure ready concept based on the ID.4 GTX.
Called the Volkswagen ID. XTREME, the concept is said to have been created by a team headed by Andreas Reckewerth – overall head of vehicle development for the MEB platform.
The new concept offers a total of 382bhp, instead of the 295bhp that the ID.4 GTX offers. And to help ensure competence over any terrain, the Volkswagen ID. XTREME comes with 18-inch off-road wheels.
These are further supported by a modified front bumper, widened 3D-printed wings, and additional LED lights on the roof carrier.
A completely closed aluminium underbody also provides the necessary protection for the electric drivetrain for those excursions away from paved roads.
Volkswagen additionally states that the ID. XTREME sports a unique driving noise, specially developed by Volkswagen Design. The noise will play on the outside of the car via a generator located in the wheel housing.
Splashings of Alcantara, redesigned seats, and the inclusion of orange accents throughout finish off the interior of the ID.XTREME.
