Volkswagen has revealed its first road going electric performance vehicle, the ID.4 GTX.
The ID.4 GTX is the first product launched under the firm’s new GTX performance sub brand.
With one electric drive motor on both the front and rear axle, the ID.4 GTX will offer up to 295bhp and all-wheel drive, another first for the ID. family.
That output is enough to send the ID.4 GTX to 60km/h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds. The century sprint meanwhile, is completed in 6.2 seconds. The vehicle’s top speed is electronically limited to 180km/h.
On the exterior, the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX sports the ID. family’s familiar light strip. Powerful, exterior design elements such as the three honeycomb pattern that form the daytime running lights meanwhile, hark back to the Golf GTI.
A 3D LED tail light cluster and brake lights that form an “X” shape finish off the car at the rear.
Setting the GTX model apart are a black roof and rear spoiler. The roof frame is finished in high-gloss anthracite, while the cabin of the ID.4 GTX utilises a red/blue contrasting colour scheme.
The ID.4 GTX will be launched in Europe from mid-2021.
