Wearnes Automotive, the official agent for Jaguar in Singapore, has unveiled the facelifted F-Type.
Initially available as the F-Type Coupe, the new sports car comes with a host of improvements to its design, interior, drivetrain and performance. Prices (correct at time of writing) start from $377,999 with COE.
REDESIGNED EXTERIOR
The latest Jaguar F-Type’s front end is vastly different from the pre-facelift model. There’s a larger grille, slimmer instead of square headlights, and a new clamshell bonnet. The latter features what Jaguar calls “liquid metal” surfacing.
There are new slender LED tail-lamps with the brand’s chicane signature, which is inspired by the Jaguar I-Pace. The tail-lights also have a subtle monogram pattern and a “pinstripe”.
JAGUAR F-TYPE – MORE ADVANCED INTERIOR
The biggest upgrade to the F-Type’s cabin is the new 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display, a digital instrument panel that replaces the previous analogue cluster. It lets drivers configure the layout to their liking.
Two types of seats – Sport and Performance – are available. The former is standard on the Jaguar F-Type and F-Type R-Dynamic variants, while the latter is standard in F-Type R and First Edition models.
To enhance the interior’s style quotient, designers added details such as “Jaguar Est. 1935” markings on the seat belt guides and on the surround for the glovebox release button.
JAGUAR F-TYPE – ENGINE OPTIONS
When the Jaguar F-Type was first launched, it was available in three variants. Two of them were powered by a supercharged 3-litre V6, while the third had a supercharged 5-litre V8. Later, Jaguar added a turbocharged 2-litre 4-cylinder to the engine lineup.
After the model update, the Jaguar Singapore will only offer two powerplant options – the turbocharged 2-litre inline-4 and the supercharged 5-litre V8, which is available on an indent basis.
The former delivers 296hp (300PS) and 400Nm, and a century sprint time of 5.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the latter is available in two performance levels – 444hp (450PS) and 580Nm, and 567hp (575PS) and 700Nm.
The more powerful version is only available on the all-wheel-drive Jaguar F-Type.
