The facelifted Jaguar F-Pace SVR and XF are now officially available in Singapore.
Unveiled yesterday by the brand’s official agent Wearnes Automotive, the F-Pace SVR is the range-topping SUV in Jaguar’s lineup and currently starts from $435,999 with COE.
The XF, on the other hand, is the brand’s mid-size executive saloon and is currently priced from $268,999 with COE.
SHARPER LOOKS
To enhance airflow and aerodynamics, the F-Pace SVR features larger intakes for better cooling of the powertrain and brakes. But at the same time, lift has been reduced by 35 percent while the drag coefficient has gone down from 0.37 to 0.36.
There’s also a new bumper with an X-shape and blade-like elements, which help to visually lower the front of the SUV. Designers also have the car a new, longer bonnet with a wider “power bulge”.
At the rear, the F-Pace SVR has new tail-lights with Jaguar’s double chicane graphic. Revised SVR logos adorn the vehicle.
The updates to the XF also give it a more dynamic-looking design. It gets all-new all-LED quad headlights, which have laser-etched, heritage-inspired monogram patterns.
The side vents now feature Jaguar’s “leaper”, while the rear gets a wider bumper and body-coloured upper valance. Jaguar says that this visually lowers the car.
INTERIOR REFINEMENTS
Jaguar says that the updates to the XF’s cabin make it look more spacious through the use of contrast-colour at eye level and light-coloured finishes on the lower sections.
The infotainment is upgraded to the Pivi Pro system, which has a curved, 11.4-inch touchscreen. Jaguar says that the interface is intuitive, and that 90 percent of commonly used features can be carried out within two taps from the home screen.
Softer-touch materials improve overall tactility, too.
To improve ride comfort, the XF can be specified with optional Active Road Noise Cancellation, and cabin air ionisation.
Meanwhile, the F-Pace SVR’s interior has been designed to heighten its sporty character. The seats, door inserts and Interactive Driver Display for instance, are all finished with Alcantara.
SVR logos are on the seat headrests and Drive Selector dial. And the paddle shifters are constructed from zinc-alloy for better tactility.
Like the XF, the F-Pace SVR has also been given the new 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment unit. Its display is 48 percent larger and three times as brighter, making it more user-friendly than the previous system.
POWERTRAINS
The all-wheel-drive F-Pace SVR continues to be powered by a supercharged 5-litre V8 with 543hp (550PS), but its torque output has risen by 20Nm to 700Nm.
This drops its century sprint time to 4 seconds from 4.3 seconds previously. To cope with the additional output, the SUV now uses the same torque converter as the XE SV Project 8.
Jaguar also claims that in Dynamic mode, the SVR’s throttle responses are sharper and the dampers are stiffer. There’s also a new Dynamic Launch feature that uses driveline inertia to maintain power delivery during gearchanges for better acceleration from a standstill.
Other upgrades include a new electronic power-assistance system for the steering, revised chassis bushes, and an Integrated Power Booster for the braking system for shorter brake pedal travel.
The latest XF is powered by a turbocharged 2-litre inline-4 that produces 247hp (250PS) and 365Nm. Paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, it propels the rear-wheel-drive sedan from rest to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds.
