The new Kia Sorento seven-seater SUV is now available at Cycle & Carriage.
The new model is 1900mm wide and 4810mm long – 10mm wider and 10mm longer than its predecessor – while its wheelbase has grown by 35mm to 2815mm.
LEANER AND MEANER
The new Kia Sorento also gets a new 2.2-litre Smartstream turbo-diesel engine that delivers 199bhp and 400Nm of torque.
This new 4-cylinder features an aluminium block, which is 19.5kg lighter than the previous cast-iron one. Overall, the entire engine is 38.2kg lighter than the one in the third-generation Kia Sorento.
The new Sorento has grown 10mm wider and longer than its predecessor.
The new engine is paired with Kia’s new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which enhances fuel efficiency by up to 3% over a conventional 8-speed automatic.
SMARTER SUITE
A suite of technologies now enhances safety, connectivity and infotainment, based around the car’s twin digital displays in the dashboard.
Driver’s instrument panel and central infotainment screen are combined for a widescreen experience.
The cabin of the Kia Sorento now features a new 12.3-inch high-resolution digital instrument cluster with the Blind-Spot View Monitor.
It is paired with the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to display information within the driver’s line of sight. Both screens are housed within a seamless design.
The car’s functions can be controlled with new haptic buttons on either side of the screen. The Surround View Monitor, which utilises four cameras installed on the vehicle, aids the driver in parking.
The infotainment system of the Kia Sorento also provides smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for greater convenience.
Customers who opt for the Tech Pack will also get an LED-lit interior. The Tech Pack also comes with a wireless smartphone charger and a Bose surround-sound system.
For safety, the Kia Sorento now also features Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane Keeping Assist.
KIA SORENTO: SPACE FOR ALL
The Sorento is not just designed for the driver, but also with the comfort of all occupants in mind.
Passengers in the second- and third-row will have dedicated air-con vents, while those in the second row have access to USB ports. Boot space is 187 litres with all seats in place.

The all-new Sorento is available in three variants: SX, SX Tech Pack and GT Tech Pack. Prices currently start from $158,999 with COE.
