Volkswagen R has announced its second global brand ambassador: American racing driver, stunt man and presenter Tanner Foust.
Foust is also a four-time Rallycross Champion. His most recent title win was in 2019 behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Beetle R. The Volkswagen pilot also has two championships in Formula Drift under his belt, along with four gold medals at the X-Games.
At the beginning of February this year, the GP Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria also brought Tanner Foust and the Beetle R back together.
Tanner Foust also drove the 552bhp Beetle to victory in the American Rallycross Championships in 2019 – enabling the now decommissioned model series to go out in true style.
Foust has also recently made a name for himself as a presenter on the U.S version of the TV show ‘Top Gear’ between 2010 and 2016.
For now, Tanner Foust’s new offices will include the Volkswaen eR1 – a purely electric racing car based on the body of a Volkswagen Golf – and an Atlas Cross Sport, specially prepared for the Baja 1000 Race.
