Subaru’s concept Forester STI with e-Boxer engine
Subaru has released photos of its Forester and Impreza STI concepts ahead of their launch at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon in January.
Based on the Japan-spec Subaru Forester Advance, the Subaru Forester STI e-Boxer S209 concept features an exclusive Fighter Gray paintjob and “aerodynamic parts”.
Special 19-inch wheels and Brembo six-piston brakes feature up front, while a new honeycomb mesh grille and STI badging give it a more aggressive look.
As per its name, Subaru’s new e-Boxer hybrid powertrain – which pairs a 12hp electric motor with a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine – features with significantly more output.
Meanwhile, Subaru will also launch its Impreza STI concept at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon too, seen here in concept form.

According to Subaru’s Japan site, the Impreza STI concept will be “tailored to STI sport specification”, and has a Bordeaux colour scheme inside.
From pictures, Subaru has fitted it with a more aerodynamic bodykit with side skirts, revised grille, blacked-out roof and STI alloys.
Aside from the Forester and Impreza STI concepts, other concept models slated to be unveiled are a WRX STI and a Levorg wagon.
