For drivers looking for functional versatility coupled with outstanding comfort over long distances, BMW now has the revised 6 Series Gran Turismo.
THE STYLISH INDIVIDUALIST
The latest BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo sports new contours for its kidney grille and the head lights, both of which now stretch out further to the sides and further down into the front apron for a more striking appearance.
The air intake below the front bumper is also now split into three segments.
At the rear, the horizontal contour line below the boot lid is now more strongly defined and extends into the flanks of the body, accentuating vehicle width.
A revised selection of body paint finishes adds Phytonic Blue metallic, Piedmont Red metallic and Bernina Grey Amber effect to the range of colour shades available to customers.
On cars with the M Sport package, the Portimao Blue metallic finish can also be specified.
A REFINED, LUXURIOUS AMBIENCE
In the cabin, the controls on the centre console and the leather sports steering wheel have been rearranged for easier operation of the car’s connectivity, entertainment and assistance systems.
The seats are upholstered in Dakota leather trim, offered in the colours Black, Cognacand Ivory White as standard.
Customers looking to further individualise their car can also choose from options including Nappa leather trim in Black, Mocha or Ivory White, and BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in Caramel, Tartufo or Smoke Grey.
A new interior trim strip options is also offered: Ash open-pore fine-wood trim with accent trim strips in Pearl-effect Chrome.
Optional interior features include four-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass sunroof, the Ambient Air Package, electrically adjustable roller sunblinds, a soft-close function for the doors and auxiliary heating.
The ambient lighting option includes LED illumination around the instrument panel and door shoulders and in the footwells.
The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System is also offered, guaranteeing luxurious audio pleasure with its fully active amplifier, 16 speakers, and 1400-watt output.
POWERFUL SPORTING CHARACTER
The 2-litre 4-cylinder engine for the new BMW 630i Gran Turismo generates a maximum output of 255bhp and peak torque of 400Nm.
Meanwhile, the new BMW 640i Gran Turismo and BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo are powered by a turbocharged 3-litre inline-6 engine producing a maximum of 329bhp and peak torque of 450Nm.
All new 6 Series Gran Turismo variants will also feature a 48V mild-hybrid system for reduced fuel consumption while boosting performance.
The familiar combination of a double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle promises a superb blend of agility and ride comfort.
BMW 6 SERIES GRAN TURISMO: PRACTICAL ASPECTS
The high-opening tailgate of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo rises to reveal storage capacity of 600 litres.
This automatic tailgate remains part of standard specification and loading the boot can be made even easier with the optional Comfort Access function, which brings a hands-free tailgate.
And for the occasional road trip, the 40:20:40 rear seat backrest can also be folded down at the touch of a button to increase bootspace to as much as 1800 litres.
