Red Bull Racing Formula One fans were treated to a unique visual spectacle that saw Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo teaming up with a well-known local urban artist, Zul Othman, to complete a live art installation at ‘The Art of Racing’ event.
The Marina Barrage was transformed into a giant art gallery which displayed the works of three urban artists – Zul Othman (ZERO), Raihana Abdul Rahman (AraiKreva) and Candice Phang (Puffingmuffin). They partnered with Esso Singapore to design and create edgy car decals in the weeks leading up to the finale.
Participants who dressed up their cars with vinyl body decals were invited to the event, where they got a chance to see Aston Martin art cars created by AraiKreva and Puffingmuffin on display. At the same time, Red Bull Racing Driver Daniel Ricciardo worked with local artist ZERO to put the finishing touches to a third Aston Martin that had been completely transformed into a piece of art as a tribute to racing.
Attendees at the event also got to celebrate their passion for racing and were invited to contribute in the creation of a giant mural which was fully unveiled to reveal a specially designed ‘The Art of Racing’ logo.
“The Art of Racing campaign is a great way to celebrate the synergy that artists and race drivers share”, said Zul Othman, one of the most renowned visual and urban artists in Singapore who was awarded the 2013 Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council.
“Every piece of art I create is a showcase of my passion and dedication to my craft, and an F1 driver brings the same commitment to deliver the best performance he can every single time he races.”
