Combining the words “magnetic” and “ignite”, Nissan says its Magnite compact crossover is aimed at buyers seeking “the perfect companion for city adventures”.
A NEW FACE AND BADGE
Nissan states that the Magnite’s exterior delivers a “confident and agile stance while still appearing vibrant and youthful”.
Up front, the Nissan Magnite features L-shaped daytime running lights below its LED headlamps. The crossover also sports Nissan’s new brand logo within its front grille.
Inside, a spacious layout delivers a high seating position and generous shoulder space between front passengers. Occupants in the rear will supposedly have legroom comparable to those from models a class above.
Complementing the 7-inch instrument panel is an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
NISSAN MAGNITE: POWERFUL AND FUNCTIONAL
The Nissan Magnite will be powered by an all-new, turbocharged 1-litre engine. No output figures have been provided yet, but it is said that the model will have 205mm of ground clearance and Hill Start Assist.
Nissan’s 360-degree Around View Monitor will also enhance safety by helping spot obstacles around the vehicle.
To enhance its handling, the Magnite has been tested at Nissan’s Tochigi Proving Ground in Japan, where models such as the GT-R and upcoming Ariya EV have also been put through their paces.
