The new Volkswagen Polo is now in Singapore.
Unveiled earlier today at Volkswagen Centre Singapore (Alexandra Road), the new Polo is larger and roomier than its predecessor.
The latest Volkswagen Polo is 81mm longer than the older model, and its wheelbase has also grown by 81mm to 2551mm.
Backseat space is more generous, and the bench’s backrests have a more relaxed recline angle, too.
The new car also offers greater connectivity than before, with four USB ports and the brand’s Composition Media infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay.
VW’s latest supermini is also the first model to be equipped with the second-generation Active Info Display, which boasts sharper graphics.
The system is standard on the higher spec Polo Beats variant, which also comes with a 300W sound system.
Powering the new Volkswagen Polo is a turbocharged 1-litre 3-cylinder engine with 113hp and 200Nm.
VW claims a century sprint time of 9.5 seconds. This is 1.3 seconds faster than the preceding model, which has a turbocharged 1.2-litre 4-cylinder that delivers 95hp and 160Nm.
The Polo Comfortline is currently listed at $96,900, while the Polo Beats is priced at $102,900. Both figures are inclusive of COE.
Other superminis to consider include the new turbocharged Suzuki Swift and Mazda 2.
