Now that the 911 Carrera and Carrera S models are turbocharged, it wasn’t long before Porsche boosted the 911 Turbo and Turbo S models, as well.
Both the Turbo and Turbo S’ outputs have been raised by 20bhp. The former now packs 540bhp, while the latter boasts 580bhp. This performance increase also applies to the Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet variants.
For the Turbo, this additional output is down to the modified inlet ports in the cylinder head, new injection nozzles and higher fuel pressure. In the Turbo S’ case, Porsche utilised new turbochargers with larger compressors.
Unlike the Carrera and Carrera S models, which both have smaller displacement engines, the 911 Turbo and Turbo S continue to be powered by turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-6 motors.
Prices (without COE) start at $743,688 and $869,788 for the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, respectively.
