Peugeot has unveiled its latest 5008.
The seven-seater sports utility vehicle (SUV) features a redesigned exterior, plus a host of new connectivity and safety features. It is scheduled to reach Singapore in Q2 2021.
ENHANCED EXTERIOR
The Peugeot 5008 has a new front grille and bumper, which features gloss black side scoops and a painted read plate. Range-topping GT and GT Premium models will have their own unique grills to help them stand out.
The headlights are also new, and every trim level will have LED light technology. On the GT and GT Premium models, the LED headlights have a new “Fog Mode” function that replaces conventional fog lights.
At the rear, the new LED tail-lights are covered with a smoked glass finish that extends the black boot lid on each side of the vehicle.
Two new colour options – Celebes Blue and Metallic Copper – are now available to buyers. And for the first time, a “Black Pack” is available as an option for GT and GT Premium customers.
MORE TECH INSIDE
The new Peugeot 5008 is equipped with the brand’s next-generation i-Cockpit®, which features a customisable 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and compact steering wheel. There’s also a new 10-inch HD colour touchscreen.
The 12.3-inch display can be customised to show everything from navigation directions to important vehicle information.
The central display also shows drivers the selected Drive Mode. Drivers have a choice between Normal, Sport and Eco modes. The new Peugeot 5008 also has a new “Frameless” rear view mirror on GT and GT Premium.
SPACE AND PRACTICALITY
With three rows of seats accommodating up to seven people, the interior of the new 5008 SUV is both practical and versatile.
Boot space ranges from 780-litres to 1940-litres. The second row’s three individual and fully adjustable seats have reclining backrests and can be fully folded.
The pair of third-row seats can be fully folded and removed, while the front passenger seat can be tipped forward, enabling objects up to 3.2m long to be stowed.
PEUGEOT 5008: UPGRADED SAFETY
For the first time, the latest Peugeot 5008 can be specified with Night Vision, making it unique in its segment.
Using infrared technology, pedestrians and animals detected ahead of the vehicle are highlighted on the 12.3-inch digital instrument display.
The function works up to 200m outside the scope of the headlights, ensuring safety even in total darkness.
Models equipped with the 8-speed automatic gearbox will come with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). It can bring the Peugeot 5008 to a complete stop and move off again without any driver input.
Lane Position Assist, which is linked to the ACC, helps ensure that the Peugeot 5008 remains centred in its lane. Both technologies are available as part of the Drive Assist Plus Package.
