Borneo Motors, the official agent for Lexus in Singapore, has introduced the updated Lexus ES range.
The mid-size luxury saloon boasts a long list of improvements and design enhancements. It will be available in three variants: ES250, ES300h hybrid, and for the first time, an ES250 F Sport.
STYLE UPDATES
The most obvious change to the ES is the new grille, which features a mesh pattern made up of L-shaped components. The grille is flanked by new, more compact headlights.
The triple beam headlamps are equipped with Lexus’ BladeScan Adaptive High-beam system, which helps improve visibility at night or in rainy weather.
The ES is also available in two new paintwork hues: Sonic Iridium and Sonic Chrome. Executive variants come with 18-inch wheels as standard, while the ES250 F Sport will have unique 19-inch wheels.
As the sportiest-looking model in the range, the ES250 F Sport has a grille that features crosshatch pattern of interlocking L shapes. This variant also comes with a rear spoiler, a darker lower valance and exclusive badging.
INSIDE CHANGES
Lexus says the ES feels even more luxurious than before, thanks to newly developed Sumi Black and Dark Brown colours. The hairline ornamentation is even laser etched one at a time.
There’s a new display for the infotainment system as well. Its glass panel supposedly improves visibility, while the touchscreen itself has been moved more than 100mm closer to the driver for added convenience.
In line with its dynamic character, the ES250 F Sport interior can be had in either White and black, or Flare Red and Black. F Sport models also have a new Hadori metallic trim, which Lexus claims is inspired by traditional Japanese sword-making.
Backseat passengers can recline their backrests by up to 8 degrees, and can adjust the climate, sunshades and audio using the control panel on the centre armrest.
With regard to safety, the Pre-Collision System’s response range has been improved, thanks to the upgraded single-lens camera and millimetre-wave radar. It now comes with Intersection Turning Assist and Emergency Steering Assist.
The Lane Tracing Assist function has also been enhanced with AI technologies. Designed to help keep the car in the centre of the lane, Lane Tracing Assist now offers smoother and more continuous steering inputs when active.
NEW AFTERSALES PROGRAMME
Launched alongside the facelifted ES is the new Lexus Signature Care programme, which supposedly offers owners “the full spectrum of aftersales care” worth $10,000.
Said services include servicing for up to five years/100,000km (whichever comes first), five years/12 sessions of collection & delivery service, and a five-year, 24-hours Lexus On Wheels Service.
