Kia’s all-new Sportage offers more refinement and driveability compared to its predecessor. The cabin has more soft-touch materials and a 30mm longer wheelbase for greater legroom. Backseat passengers also benefit from the increased recline angle for the seats.
In terms of practicality, the boot has grown from 465 litres to 503 litres and now features underfloor storage for valuables.
For keen drivers, there’s a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine with 177bhp and 265Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch. If this variant were launched here, it would be the first Kia model in Singapore with a dual-clutch gearbox.
At press time, the exact variants that will arrive haven’t been confirmed, but official agent Cycle & Carriage says it will launch the Sportage in the second quarter of 2016.
