Funan has finally reopened its doors to the public and it brings with it a raft of new and exciting changes.
It reopens after three years of redevelopment and houses “more than 190 brands” sectioned into themes like tech, craft, play, fit, chic and taste.
Where the old mall focused on IT, the new Funan goes beyond technology to offer shoppers a new experience underpinned by analytics.
One of its standout features is that it is the first commercial development here to allow cycling through the building as part of its ‘car-lite’ initiatives.

However, drivers are not neglected just yet.
Out of some 400 carpark lots at Funan, 36 lots are set aside for its carpark reservation system.
Carparks are located on levels B3 and B4.
Drivers can book their slots a day in advance via the CapitaStar app.
Download the Capitastar app for Android here and for iOS here.
When you reach the mall, you will be guided to your exact allocated lot by the video-based smart car-parking facility.
Below is a screenshot of what you can expect if you use the carpark reservation system:
You can even use your Capitastar loyalty points to pay for parking!
Should you wish to use the lots, take note of the following prescribed terms and conditions:
- Reservation can be made for all vehicles which are lower than 2 metres in height, excluding motorcycles.
- A non-refundable reservation fee of $5.35 with GST will be charged.
- Reservation fees exclude prevailing parking charges.
- Cancellation of reservation is not allowed.
- Shoppers must strictly adhere to the booking timing.
By year-end, a robot-enabled handsfree shopping experience and 24/7 click-and-collect drive-through service will be unveiled.
Driven by sensors, the shopping experience is meant to closely match the shopper’s preferences.
“The reimagined Funan relaunches the mall as a social retail space for discovery, learning and shopping, underpinned by a digital layer of customer experience to enhance satisfaction,” said Capitaland Singapore’s managing director of retail Chris Chong.
“As Funan enters a new era, we remain committed to innovating Funan’s offerings to keep its retail platform dynamic and relevant.”
