BMW has announced that the new 5 Series will have a range-topping 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 variant.
The M550i xDrive packs 462bhp and 650Nm, allowing it to reach 100km/h in four seconds and a regulated top velocity of 250km/h.
The variant will remain the hottest 5 Series until an all-new M5 is introduced.
