Bummed out you couldn’t get your hands on the MINI John Cooper Works GP?
Well, MINI now has a pretty sweet balm for all those missing their dream performance MINI: Enter the newly updated MINI JCW Countryman.
POWER MEETS VERSTILITY
The regular MINI Countryman was only recently updated but now also has its wick turned up all the way courtesy of the 302bhp engine as seen in the latest JCW MINIs. What the JCW Countryman has above the Works GP, however, is all-wheel-drive.
Working with the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, the new MINI JCW Countryman will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. Maximum torque from the engine is 450Nm.
Four-piston fixed calliper disc brakes sit in the front wheels.
And for all those not paying attention to the road, a model-specific sport exhaust system which now sports enlarged tailpipes (at 95mm in diameter) will make sure few ever miss the car approaching.
Standard equipment on the MINI JCW Countryman includes a sports brake system with four-piston fixed calliper disc brakes on the front wheels and single-piston floating-caliper disc brakes on the rear wheels.
Meanwhile, 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels with brake calipers painted in Chili Red will put all that stopping power on the road.
THE LOOKS TO MATCH
The JCW Countryman will sport the same Union Jack design on the taillights as the updated regular Countryman, while the head lamp surrounds, rear lights and radiator grille are now finished in high-gloss black instead of chrome.
The door handles and the model lettering on the luggage compartment lid get the same treatment, too.
The JCW will be available with the new exterior colours White Silver metallic and Sage Green metallic, as well as the optional Piano Black Exterior.
The cabin sports new accents, while the 5-inch digital instrument display is now available.
PRACTICAL CABIN
The interior of the JCW Countryman has received fresh accents, while the 5-inch digital instrument display is now available as an option.
The optional Connected Media equipment in the new MINI JCW Countryman also includes an 8.8-inch colour display with touchscreen function. This also now has a bezel and touch-sensitive control panels with high-gloss Piano Black surfaces.
Four doors and a large tailgate, five full-size seats and a boot capacity of 1390-litres round off the JCW Countryman’s package.
