Mercedes-AMG has unveiled a new marketing campaign about its Project ONE hypercar called After work.
It highlights Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton’s participation in the final development phase of the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hypercar.
The two-seater super-sportscar will bring the latest and most efficient Formula 1 hybrid technology from the race track to the road.
Two further electrified models and a new AMG technology label “E PERFORMANCE” will also be introduced.
Mercedes-AMG says Project ONE raises the bar for what is currently technically feasible to a new level.
A hybrid power unit on an electrified front axle will deliver a system output of over 992bhp and a top speed of over 350km/h.
The 1.6-litre V6 hybrid petrol engine with direct injection and electrically supported single turbocharging comes from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 racing car.
Spur gears will drive its four overhead camshafts, while engine speed is capped at 11,000rpm. This is done to prolong service life and allow the engine to run on premium plus petrol.
The “E PERFORMANCE” label will be launched next year.
Its aim is to strengthen the Mercedes-AMG identity as a performance luxury brand. It will also allow the carmaker to push through with the electrification of its portfolio, while intensifying its links with Formula 1.
