The Mercedes-AMG E53 4MATIC+ Saloon and Estate has been enhanced with a more striking design and new options for individualisation.
Exterior-wise, both cars now have a bonnet with two distinctive powerdomes. The new front also has new large outer air inlets with two cross louvres. Meanwhile, the new front splitter is finished in silver chrome.
At the rear, the round twin tailpipe elements are available in high-gloss chrome or high-gloss black as part of the Night Package. The Mercedes-AMG E53 Saloon has also been given new two-piece LED taillights.
Nineteen inch light-alloy wheels in a five-twin-spoke design are standard. The optional 20-inch light-alloy wheels will come with a rim edge painted in either matte black or high-gloss titanium grey.
An optional AMG Night Package is also being offered on the Mercedes-AMG E53 which will finish the front splitter, mirror caps, disc frame, trim strip in the rear apron and tailpipe trim elements in high-gloss black.
Both the Sedan and Estate have 3-litre inline-6 engines producing 429bhp and 520Nm of torque.
Mercedes’ EQ Boost electric motor is paired with the engine. It facilitates hybrid functions such as energy recuperation, gliding mode and the restarting of the engine when the stop-start function is on.
During hard acceleration, the electric motor can also boost the engine with 21bhp of output and 250Nm of torque.
Inside, both models’ steering wheels are equipped with a new capacitive sensor mat. This detects if the driver has his hands on the steering wheel, even when there are no inputs.
Said new sensor mat also allows for easier use of the car’s driver assistance functions.
The steering wheels can be upholstered in leather, DINAMICA microfibre or a combination of leather and microfibre.
Sports seats in black ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfibre with an AMG design with red contrasting topstitching and an AMG badge finish off the interior.
