Maserati has revealed the first details of the Nettuno – the engine that will power the new MC20 super sportscar.
The new power unit is a twin-turbocharged 3-litre 6-cylinder with a 90° V architecture and dry sump lubrication. Said motor delivers 621bhp at 7500rpm and 730Nm of torque from 3000rpm.
The Maserati Nettuno also runs at a compression ratio of 11:1.

Despite being twin-turbocharged, the engine will still run a compression ratio of 11:1.
Maserati claims the new engine utilises technology derived from Formula 1, such as the use of a combustion pre-chamber and laterally-mounted spark plugs.
A twin injection system (both direct and indirect) will also lower emissions and improve fuel consumption.
