Hyundai has unveiled the enhanced Veloster N, which is now equipped with an all-new N 8-speed wet Dual-Clutch Transmission (N DCT).
The Hyundai Veloster N DCT is designed to offer the engaging experience of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic. With the N DCT, the new Veloster N now accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds.
Unlike a typical dry double-clutch transmission, the wet N DCT uses oil to improve lubrication and cooling performance.
KOREANS AND THEIR VIDEO GAMES…
The N DCT also comes with video game-like features that enhance driving fun. One such feature, “N Grin Shift”, increases torque by 7% from 353Nm to 378Nm by allowing turbocharger overboost. This also maximises transmission response for 20 seconds.
Additionally, “N Power Shift” engages when the car accelerates with more than 90% of throttle, mitigating any reduction in torque by timing upshifts to deliver maximum power to the wheels. This gives the driver a responsive feeling of dynamic acceleration when shifting.
NEW CABIN APPOINTMENTS
A larger high-definition 8-inch display is now a feature the cabin of the Hyundai Veloster N. The infotainment system is paired with a JBL sound system for maximum listening enjoyment.
Customers also can now opt to equip the updated Hyundai Veloster N with N Light Sports Bucket Seats.
The unibody bucket seats are wrapped in soft, suede-like Alacantara upholstery and are thinner, weighing approximately 2kg less than standard seats. They also feature an illuminated N logo on the upper side of the backrest for an improved cabin ambiance.
The updated Veloster N hits South Korea starting April 2020, with other markets to follow shortly.
