Hyundai has launched the E-mobility pilot programme in Singapore. The programme is being run in conjunction with Komoco Motors (Hyundai’s official agent) and utilities provider SP Group.
According to Hyundai, the programme “aims to identify real-world customer concerns and requirements for enhancing customer value and experience and establishing a robust EV ecosystem in the city state.”
The participants in the E-mobility pilot programme are 50 owners of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, the carmaker’s latest electric vehicle. Each participant can choose to subscribe to one of the three monthly subscription plans that integrate customer care services and EV-charging credits.
The three plans are: basic (60kWh monthly), standard (180kWh monthly) and premium (300kWh monthly).
On the E-mobility platform and SP Utilities app, users can find locations of the nearest charging point, charge, and track their remaining credits.
Each plan also includes several customer care services. For instance, drivers can monitor their EV’s battery, and receive updates and alerts on both the battery and vehicle condition.
As Hyundai’s official distributor in Singapore, Komoco Motors will also provide maintenance services that include Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) mobile charging services.
Participants in the E-mobility pilot scheme are also given in-vehicle air care products. Embiome, an affiliate of Hyundai Motor, will offer eco-friendly coating and filters that help ensure that the vehicle’s internal air quality is maintained.
SP Group CEO, Mr Stanley Huang, said: “This strategic partnership is an important milestone for us to enable large-scale EV adoption through ensuring accessibility, convenience and reliability for the EV community.”
“The pilot will provide crucial driver insights to help us better understand and meet the needs of future EV adopters. This will allow us to design and develop EV infrastructure and smarter integrated solutions to support Singapore’s electrification journey.”
Komoco Motors Executive Chairman, Mr Teo Hock Seng, added: “We are honoured to be part of this strategic development, demonstrating to Singaporeans what an EV ownership journey could offer.”
“With peace of mind after-sales support by a trained technical crew coupled with robust infrastructure and mobility solutions, I believe this exercise will be a good benchmark for those considering switching to full electric. We hope more people will join in this electric motion.”
