Motorists have been reminded that the hike in public carpark charges will be implemented on Dec 1.
The Housing Development Board (HDB) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) had announced the changes to short-term and season parking schemes – the first islandwide revision of carpark changes since 2002 – on June 30.
They cited an increase in the costs of building, operating and managing public carparks due to increased inflation, as well as construction, manpower and other related maintenance costs.
In a press release on Tuesday (Nov 29), HDB and URA also said that motorists will need to use the new parking coupons, which have been available for purchase since Oct 12.
The new coupons can be purchased at most HDB branches and services centres, the URA Centre and authorised coupon agents such as petrol stations, Cheers and 7-Eleven outlets.
Old coupons can be exchanged for new ones by topping up the difference in value at most HDB branches and service centres, as well as at the URA Centre.
For more information on the sale and exchange of parking coupons, motorists can call the HDB on 1800 225 5432 or the URA on 6329 3434.
