The Genesis G80 sports the carmaker’s new “Athletic Elegance” design language.
It is said to allow variations in design interpretations by enabling a balance between the two opposing characteristics: Athleticism and Elegance.
The Crest Grille and the two lines of Genesis G80’s Quadlamps circumvent all sides of the vehicle. These design touches also serve as signature design elements of the brand.
The side features a long sweeping Parabolic Line from front to rear. The line flows gently downwards, evoking the elegance of classic cars of the past.
This is counterbalanced with an upswept chrome line to maintain the directional posture of the car. The sharp athletic power lines of the front and rear fenders emphasise the powerful stance of the 20-inch wheels.
The rear of the Genesis G80 also sports Genesis’ Quadlamps and a horseshoe-shaped negative surface of the decklid. The trunk release button and surrounding chrome garnish mimics the shape of the Genesis logo.
On the interior, the dashboard of the Genesis G80 has been deconstructed into an expansive open space. It features a wide, 14.5-inch infotainment screen. Slim air conditioning vents visually stretch the width of the cabin.
Special care has been taken to reduce the thickness of the A-pillars and the surrounds of the rear-view mirror to give the driver a relaxed and panoramic view when seated.
The all-new G80 will debut later this month and will feature new powertrains and advanced driver assistance systems.
