The final timetable for the start of deliveries of the Volkswagen ID.3 has been set, with first deliveries scheduled to take place in September.
Volkswagen announced that binding orders for the 30,000 models making up the limited 1st Edition ID. 3 can be placed from 17 June 2020 in most European countries.
As an added bonus, those that pre-order their ID. 3’s and opt to receive their cars as soon as possible will also be offered admission into a “1st Mover Club”.
Membership in the club will come with a software update for two digital functions at the beginning of next year.
Volkswagen states that a direct line of communication will also be open for all in the club to facilitate the sharing of first experiences with the ID.3. This will also allow Volkswagen to answer customer enquiries directly.
Volkswagen also plans to collect this feedback for use in further product development.
The 1st Edition ID. 3 has a larger 58 kWh battery which is driven by an electric motor at the rear axle. It generates 201bhp and delivers a maximum torque of 310Nm, enabling the Volkswagen ID.3 to accelerate to 60km/h in 3.4 seconds.
The 1st Edition ID. 3 comes in Europe with a one-year charging credit and is available in three fixed configurations that are geared towards typical customer wishes. In addition, customers can choose the paintwork colour and the vehicle’s interior colour.
