On the Sunday of 23 April 2017, Ferrari Jakarta organised the biggest Ferrari event ever in Indonesia — Ferrari Festival of Speed, at BSD City, where more than 3500 owners and fans gathered to see an incredible lineup of around 200 classic and modern Ferrari models from every era.
The Ferrari Festival of Speed kicked off with a rally of more than 130 Ferrari cars early in the morning from Senayan City, cruising through the streets of Jakarta before travelling to BSD City.
Once at BSD City, the Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI) proceeded to parade around the 3.2km custom-built temporary circuit in their Prancing Horses. These participants and cars hailed from different parts of Indonesia including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Malang and Bali.
Next, there was a special parade of 70 Ferrari cars. The models included collectibles such as the LaFerrari, Enzo, F40, 360 Challenge Stradale, 575 Superamerica, 599 GTO; and classics such as the 250 TR, Dino 246 GTS, 365 GTC4, 365 GT 2+2 “Queen Mary” and Testarossa. Past and current Ferraris such as the 360 Modena, F430, 599 GTB, 488 GTB, as well as racing cars such as the 599XX, 488 Challenge and 488 GT3 were also present.
To demonstrate the racing DNA of the Italian marque, Ferrari GT driver Toni Vilander made a special appearance at the celebration in Jakarta. Toni drove the icon of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary, the LaFerrari Aperta, during the parade and also participated in a time attack event with the 488 Challenge racecar.
Ferrari Festival of Speed Jakarta brought the concept of “Sportainment”, which combines sporting and entertainment elements, to entertain all Ferrari enthusiasts. Besides the action on the circuit, there was also a lot of off-circuit entertainment such as live music performances by Eva Celia, The Groove and DJ Patricia Schultz.
This event to celebrate a significant milestone with Ferrari’s Indonesian clients and fans was a unique and spectacular one.
