Martin Berry, Ferrari Challenge Driver and ambassador for Make-A-Wish Singapore, unveiled his 2017 livery design at Sepang Circuit on Feb 14. Martin, together with five-year-old Make-A-Wish child, Primus, whose wish is to one day become a racing car driver, worked together to come up with a striking car and helmet design, including Primus’ signature on both the car and helmet.
The Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific series comprises seven rounds including Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, brand new circuit Zhejiang, Fuji, Sepang and the final two rounds in Italy, including Imola and culminating with Ferrari’s 70th anniversary at Mugello in October this year.
Martin Berry joined Make-A-Wish Singapore as an ambassador just two months ago and has already brought Wish kids like Joshua Koh on a joyride along Orchard Road in a blue Ferrari. The entrepreneur, who is involved in launching and acquiring companies, is no stranger to fast cars and will compete in the upcoming Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific race series.
His passion for cars is matched only by his enthusiasm to give back to the community. When Martin learnt of Wish kid Primus’ passion for Formula One and racing cars, he planned a Ferrari-themed surprise for him.
The little F1 enthusiast was invited to ride in Martin’s red Ferrari and thereafter toured the Ferrari showroom for an up-close experience of the supercars. He also received exclusive Ferrari premiums, such as a die-cast model car and a backpack, as well as a chance to help design a helmet to be worn by Martin during his race.
Martin Berry’s commitment to advance the cause of Make-A-Wish Foundation is evident in his frequent participation in its outreach initiatives. He believes that any contribution makes a difference, and he looks forward to doing his part to bring hope, strength and joy to the children and families that Make-A-Wish Singapore serves.
