The facelifted Volkswagen Arteon has arrived here in Singapore.
And before you ask, no, there currently are no plans to bring the Arteon Shooting Brake onto our sunny shores.
Not that that should really bother, because the Arteon is still gorgeous as ever, even in fastback form.
AS STYLISH AS EVER
Highlight changes for the Arteon include the redesigned nose, which sports one less horizontal bar, and the redesigned intakes.
Opt for the R-line Arteon here in Singapore and you’ll also get a light strip that connects the two head lights.
The R-line Arteon will also come here with 20-inch rims, as opposed to the 19-inch items offered on the Elegance variant.
And at the rear, the car now carries the new Volkswagen logo that we first saw on the Volkswagen T-Cross.
DECKED OUT WITH TOYS
The changes in the cabin are more significant still.
There’s a new multi-function steering wheel complete with touch-sensitive buttons, as well as new touch slider controls for the air-conditioning.
Opt for the R-line and you’ll get the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Those that opt for the Elegance trim, on the other hand, will get the 8-inch Composition system that supports wired integration of apps.
R-line cars will also benefit from a digital instrument cluster. This comes paired with a head-up display, and newly developed sports seats, said to take after those found in the Golf GTI.
Boot space stands at 563 litres, although this can be expanded to a total of 1557 litres with the rear seats folded.
ARTEON: PLENTY OF GUSTO
All Arteon models in Singapore are equipped with a 2-litre engine. Output for this unit is 187bhp and 320Nm of torque.
Paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the fastback completes the century sprint in just 7.9 secconds.
