Jaguar has given its XF sports sedan a minor update for 2019, bringing interior enhancements as well as better smartphone connectivity.
Under the hood, the 2-litre four-cylinder Ingenium engine now develops 246hp and 365Nm of torque, paired to Jaguar’s 8-speed Sequential Shift gearbox.
The Ingenium engine features offset cylinder bores and roller bearings for the camshafts and balancer shafts contribute to the Ingenium’s low levels of internal friction.
The split-cooling system features a mapped thermostat, a variable-flow pump and crossflow channels in the cylinder head to ensure a rapid warm-up from cold.
A variable flow oil pump and switchable piston cooling jets further cut parasitic losses and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
The XF previously had 240hp and 340Nm of torque.
Updates to the interior include Apple CarPlay connectivity with the 10-inch infotainment screen, illuminated treadplates and a suedecloth headliner.
Meanwhile, the optional trick 10-inch Touch Pro Dual View enables the central screen to display vehicle information – like satellite navigation for the driver – while the front seat passenger is able to simultaneously access radio, USB or TV outputs using the same screen.
It will be available in Prestige and R-Sport form
Other than these minor updates, the Jaguar XF remains as comfortable and sporting as ever.
The XF has torque vectoring by braking, a system which helps to brake the inside wheel in a corner to help tighten the line, increasing its agility.
