Headed to Malaysia for the holidays?
In an advisory today (Sept 7), the Immigrations and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) reminded travellers to expect heavy traffic at the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas over the upcoming Hari Raya Haji holiday weekend.
Traffic is expected to be heavy with departures on Friday (Sept 9), as well as on Hari Raya Haji itself, which falls next Monday (Sept 12).
To ensure smoother flow through the checkpoints, the ICA said that travellers should check the latest traffic situation before embarking on their journey. They are encouraged to carpool or use public transport.
Travellers should also ensure that they are using their own passports – with a validity of at least six months – and not accidentally carrying someone else’s passport or a passport that has been reported lost.
They should also be aware of rules on taking dutiable and controlled items into and out of Singapore.
