With the Hari Raya Puasa holiday coming, motorists and travellers are advised to plan ahead and adjust their travel plans as traffic flow at the land checkpoints is expected to be heavy.
In an advisory issued on Friday (July 1), the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) noted that traffic is expected to be particularly heavy next Tuesday and Wednesday and travellers can expect delays.
To ease traffic congestion, the ICA advised travellers to carpool, and encouraged eligible users – Singaporeans, permanent residents and Long Term Pass holders – to use the enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System lanes at bus halls.
Travellers are also reminded to ensure that their passports have a remaining validity of six months or more.
Motorists are advised to check on the traffic situation at both land checkpoints before embarking on their journey.
They can visit the Land Transport Authority’s OneMotoring website or MyTransport.SG portal for updates on the latest traffic conditions.
