Train service on the East-West Line was delayed for about 30 minutes on Wednesday (July 5) evening due to a train fault.
SMRT first alerted commuters to a 15-minute delay on the East-West Line at 7.02pm, between Jurong East and Joo Koon, on its Twitter feed, stating that a train fault was the reason for the delay.
At 7.13pm, SMRT updated its Twitter feed again, saying that there would be 10 minutes of additional travel time, due to a prior train fault at Joo Koon.
It said that train service would still be available.
At 7.29pm, it posted an update saying that the train fault had been cleared and trains were travelling “progressively back to normal speed”.
