Ryde has partnered with Cycle & Carriage for the Ryde Carpool Challenge, with a 1.2-litre Mitsubishi Attrage to be won. The nationwide campaign runs for eight months, starting from 1 April, 2016.
Every month, two winners will be picked – the top rider and top driver with the most number of successful carpool trips for that month. At the end of eight months, the top three riders and top three drivers from among the monthly winners will proceed to the final round to compete for the grand prize.
A Ryde member may only win one monthly challenge, but can continue to improve on his/her personal performance in later months, with the best score used in his/her bid to qualify for the finals. All scores will be calculated based on the number of successful carpool trips per month.
The final round involves the six finalists sharing their most memorable carpooling experience and why they want to win the car. Only one of the six will drive away with a brand new Mitsubishi Attrage in December 2016. (Click here to see how the Mitsubishi Attrage compares with the Nissan Almera and Hyundai Accent.)
Through this campaign and with the help of all its members, Ryde targets to clock a total carpool distance of one million kilometres and thereby reduce an estimated 200 tonnes of carbon emissions along the way. The company’s aim is to promote carpooling as a practical and eco-conscious option to move around in Singapore. (Here’s another useful app, for motorists.)
