At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti presented the world debut of the Chiron Sport. The Sport version of the ultimate super sports car offers significantly improved handling and even greater agility, with no change in the power or performance data.
The Bugatti developers have provided the Chiron Sport with a stiffer suspension, an optimised rear axle differential and a new Dynamic Torque Vectoring function to significantly improve the steering behaviour and the overall agility of the vehicle.
The Chiron Sport can be recognised by its new “Course” alloy wheel rims, which are a key element in reducing the weight of the hypercar. The red EB logo on the hubcaps and the red brake callipers is part of the optional colour and trim package. Another distinctive feature of the Chiron Sport is the new four-pipe exhaust deflector.
The Chiron Sport is the first production vehicle in the automotive industry with carbon fibre windscreen wiper arms, which were developed in-house by Bugatti and patented. They are 77 percent lighter than the standard wipers and have enhanced aerodynamic properties. As a standard feature, the Chiron Sport has a carbon fibre intercooler cover, saving even more weight.
The additional colour and trim option package available for the Chiron Sport offers four exterior colours combined with grey carbon: “Italian Red” (shown here), “French Racing Blue”, the silver tone “Gris Rafale” and a dark grey “Gun Powder”.
Another option is the figure “16” (shown here in “Italian Red”) on the black grid of the radiator grille, referring to the legendary W16 engine. The figure is surrounded by the famous Bugatti horseshoe, which is painted “Gun Powder” grey in the case of the Chiron Sport. Optionally, customers can have the aluminium surround of the iconic rear light on their Chiron Sport painted in “Gun Powder” grey. “Gun Powder” grey paint is also available as an option for the EB logo on the rear of the Chiron Sport.
For the interior of the Chiron Sport, the optional colour and trim package includes black Alcantara, suede leather and carbon. Subdued accents in “Italian Red“ create effective contrasts. The cockpit of the Chiron Sport features an anodised driving mode selector knob on the steering wheel. The engine starter button also has a black anodised finish. Optionally, the steering wheel and the selector lever of the Chiron Sport can be covered with black suede leather. The optional colour and trim package also includes a black anodised finish for all the controls of the vehicle.
