BMW Singapore has officially made the i5 Touring available here in Singapore.
The i5 Touring is the first luxury electric estate here. It measures in at 5,060mm long, 1,900mm wide, and stands 1,515mm tall. At the rear, the car comes with flat side window graphics alongside a slim D-pillar and long roof spoiler.
The car also gets a different rear light design from the i5 Sedan, with the lights here stretching further upwards along its sides. These lights sport horizontal LED elements that are divided by an L-shaped chrome strip.
If you’re keen on an estate because you want the maximum space available, the BMW i5 Touring can deliver. Its cargo hold offers 570 litres (the sedan offers 490 litres), and this expands to 1,700 litres if you fold down the rear backrests, which have a 40:20:40 split-folding function.
As expected, access to this space is via a powered tailgate. And if you’ve got plenty of loose items, the i5 Touring also comes with plenty of storage compartments under the boot floor, on top of a luggage compartment partition net and a flexible luggage compartment cover.
20-inch M aerodynamic wheels along with the M Sport package and high-gloss black exterior mirror caps round off the sporty touches.

In the cabin of the BMW i5 Touring you’ll get the firm’s 12.3-inch Information Display and 14.9-inch Control Display, while the BMW Interaction Bar also features here. The BMW i5 Touring also gets a completely vegan interior as standard.
The range of paintwork colours available for the i5 includes one solid finish and nine metallic finishes, although three optional BMW Individual paint finishes are also available to choose from, including two particularly expressive matt paint finishes.
The BMW i5 Touring is arriving here as an eDrive40 variant, which has an electric motor powering the rear axle. It delivers a total of 335bhp alongside a peak torque of 400Nm, although this can swell to 430Nm if you activate the Sport Boost or Launch Control function.
These figures enable you to complete the century sprint in 6.1 seconds (just 0.1 of a second behind the BMW i5 eDrive40 Sedan). Drive sensibly, however, and you can expect to achieve an energy economy close to the car’s WLTP rating of 4.8km/kWh.
The car’s 81.2kWh battery allows it to post a range of 548km. It can be charged at up to 22kW via an AC charger, but plug it into a DC charger and you’ll be able to charge at a maximum power of 205kW, allowing 156km of range to be added after just 10 minutes.
