The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, the third model in the 4 Series lineup, is now in Singapore.
Globally, the Gran Coupe makes up around 50 percent of 4 Series sales, making it a particularly significant model for BMW. Nearly 800,000 4 Series models have been sold since 2013.
Now in its second-generation, the 4 Series Gran Coupe is available in three variants: 420i, 430i, and the range-topping M440i xDrive, which is powered by a straight-6 engine.
Prices currently start from $273,888 with COE.
NEW DESIGN, LARGER DIMENSIONS
Like the 4 Series Coupe and Convertible models, the Gran Coupe features the same bold kidney grilles and frameless windows. Unique to the Gran Coupe, however, are its flush “lift-type” door handles, as opposed to the “pull-type” handles on its stablemates.
The latest 4 Series Gran Coupe is bigger than its predecessor. To be exact, it is 143mm longer, 27mm wider and 53mm taller than before. For increased roominess, the wheelbase has been lengthened by 46mm, or 5mm longer than the 3 Series’ wheelbase.
In line with this, the 4 Series Gran Coupe’s front and rear tracks have also been widened to further improve handling.
Boot capacity has grown, too. The car offers 470 litres (39 litres more than previously) with the rear seats up and 1290 litres when they are folded.
TECH BITS
Around 40 driver assistance functions can be found in the 4 Series Gran Coupe. The standard list of features includes Lane Departure warning, front collision warning, and the Reversing Assist Camera and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant.
For connectivity, the Gran Coupe comes with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25 control display for the infotainment system.
Powered by BMW Operating System 7, users can choose to interface with the system via the touchscreen, controller, gestures or voice control.
