The Flying Spur V8 is now officially in Singapore.
Launched at the Shangri-La Hotel, the limousine promises increased range and a more driver-centric experience compared to the W12 model.
The Flying Spur V8 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4-litre V8 that pumps out 542hp and 770Nm of torque. Prices start from $919,000 before COE and options.
BENTLEY FLYING SPUR V8: UNIQUE ACCENTS
The Flying Spur V8 distinguishes itself from its W12-powered sibling with its “V8” wing badges and quad exhausts. The more powerful flagship features “W12” badges and dual exhausts.
Seven paintwork colours are offered as standard, with over 60 additional hues available for clients to choose from. Customers can also commission Bentley to match a specified colour.
The same level of personalisation can be had in the interior, with numerous hide colours and duo-tone configurations that can be specified.
Crown cut walnut veneers are offered as standard, with another seven veneer species to choose from. A High Gloss Carbon Fibre finish is also available.
BENTLEY FLYING SPUR V8: PERFORMANCE
Beneath the long bonnet resides a twin-turbocharged 4-litre V8 that sends 542hp and 770Nm to the wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
These figures propel the 2.3-tonne saloon from rest to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is 318km/h. This is not far from the 626hp Flying Spur W12, which hits the century mark in 3.8 seconds.
Bentley says that the Flying Spur V8 caters more to drivers than the W12 model. This is due to the limousine’s higher agility – it is 100kg lighter than the W12 – and more emotive engine note.
Like the W12 motor, the V8 here can also shut down half of the cylinders when driving conditions allow it. This helps reduce emissions and maximise the car’s range.
To improve handling, the Flying Spur V8 has features such as Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Air Suspension and Drive Dynamics Control. The car can be optionally fitted with the 48-volt electric active anti-roll system and all-wheel-steering for even better drivability.
The new Flying Spur V8 is now at Wearnes Automotive. Prices start from $919,000 before COE and options.
