Luxury carmaker Bentley and whisky brand The Macallan have announced a global partnership “to develop distinctive collaborations and further their vision of a more sustainable future”.
The partnership was unveiled at The Macallan Estate in Scotland, alongside the launch of the new Bentley Bentayga Hybrid.
Both brands have declared sustainability goals. Bentley, for instance, will electrify its entire range by 2023 and launch its first battery electric model by 2025.
An electric-only model range will also be introduced by 2030.
The Macallan, on the other hand, aims to become carbon-neutral by 2030. It has also committed to having an electric passenger vehicle fleet on the Estate by 2025. In line with this, it will be taking delivery of two hybrid Bentleys this year.
Bentley and The Macallan’s collaboration will initially focus on a number of core areas, including both brands’ journey to carbon neutrality, research into the sourcing of sustainable materials, and teamwork on finding and sharing sustainable, local suppliers.
A wide range of projects are also expected over the coming years. These include jointly developed products, customer experiences and collaborative events.
Adrian Hallmark, Bentley’s chairman and chief executive, said: “Transforming Bentley into the world’s most sustainable luxury car company is an exciting journey, and I’m delighted to be working with The Macallan with one common goal – to both lead our fields as we work towards a more sustainable future.”
