Audi Singapore has unveiled the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models in Singapore.
The two models are the brand’s first electric grand tourers, with the latter being the most powerful RS model Audi has ever produced to date.
They are also the latest addition to Audi’s battery electric vehicle lineup, joining the previously introduced e-tron and e-tron Sportback SUVs.
Prices for these grand tourers start from $489,000 with COE.
DESIGN SPECIFICS
Both models have been given long, low and wide bodies, with blistered fenders. A glass roof is standard, but buyers can specify the optional carbon fibre one to reduce kerb weight and the centre of gravity.
They were also shaped by aerodynamics. Various measures to achieve the 0.24 drag coefficient figure include controllable air inlets, two-position rear spoiler and fully panelled underbody.
The latter even has “dimples” like those on a golf ball, which supposedly further enhances the car’s ability to slice through the air. Audi says these aerodynamic enhancements extend the range of the car by 30km.
POWERTRAINS AND RANGE
The e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT each have two electric motors (one on each axle) that are powered by an 84kWh battery (93kWh net capacity). Like their close relation, the Porsche Taycan, the e-tron GT models also have an 800-volt architecture, which enables fast charging at up to 270kW.
Outputs for the e-tron GT are 469hp (476PS) and 630Nm, which rise to 523hp and 640Nm in boost mode, which lasts for 2.5 seconds. In this mode, it zips from rest to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds.
Meanwhile, the RS version boasts 590hp (598PS) and 830Nm by default. In boost mode, the motors churn out 637hp (646PS) to enable the grand tourer to finish the century sprint in 3.3 seconds.
This performance makes it the fastest and most powerful RS model to date.
