Capella Auto, the official agent for Alfa Romeo in Singapore, previewed the updated Giulia Quadrifoglio, the brand’s quickest and more powerful saloon to date. And with more and more cars becoming electrified or going electric, this might be the last non-hybridised, high-performance vehicle of its type, too.
The event, which took place at The Gallery in Komoco Motors, was a preview instead of a launch, as the car seen here is already spoken for. Its owner waited nine months for the car to arrive, which is akin to waiting for the birth of a child.
Capella Auto says the Giulia Quadrifoglio, together with the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, will be in its showroom in July 2024.
The biggest update to the Giulia Quadrifoglio can be found beneath its muscular bonnet. Here, the turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 now pumps out 513bhp and continues to deliver 600Nm of torque.
These figures are sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox and at full tilt, the Giulia Quadrifoglio goes from zero to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. A mechanical limited-slip differential is standard.
Like the “regular” facelifted Giulia we reviewed, the Quadrifoglio model also sports the new headlights that are underscored by a trio of daytime running lamps. And instead of dual exhausts, you’ll find quad pipes below the rear bumper.
To further reflect its status as Alfa’s sportiest sedan, the car gets larger air intakes for improved cooling, functional bonnet and fender vents, plus an active carbon fibre front spoiler that automatically deploys at speed for improved aerodynamic stability. Carbon fibre is also used for the car’s side skirts and boot lip spoiler.
This customer unit comes with 19-inch wheels and optional red brake callipers, along with cross-drilled rotors for enhanced stopping power. Wrapped around the signature “telephone dial” wheels are Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, with “AR” markings denoting that they are specially tailored for this model.
Though members of the media were not allowed to sit inside the car, the Quadrifoglio’s racy character was still obvious. Carbon fibre is used to trim the dashboard, door panels and centre console, while the ‘Start’ button is red instead of black. The alloy pedals should provide grip and support for the driver’s footwork.
The updated Giulia Quadrifoglio features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well, but unlike the one in “normal” Alfas, this model has a “Race” layout apart from the “Evolved”, “Relax” and “Heritage” configurations.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio is currently priced at $339,888 before COE and is expected to be available in July 2024.
