The 500,000th Fiat 500L has rolled off the production line at the plant in Kragujevac, Serbia. The landmark car is a 500L Cross 1.6 MultiJet 120hp in Sicilian Orange with black roof.
Launched in 2012, the 500L has been at the top of its segment in Europe for the last five years and market leader in both Italy and Spain. The model was refreshed in 2017, helping it to grab a segment share of 22 percent in Europe and over 52 percent in Italy. Sales for the first month of 2018 appear equally positive – in Europe, they were up 5 percent year-on-year, while in Italy the market share was more than 50 percent in its segment.
The refreshed Fiat 500L is now even more spacious, packed with the latest technology and full of personality. It is the ideal car for modern family life as it combines the iconic 500 style and practical Fiat design touches, such as cinema-style rear seats and Cargo Magic Space which offers multi-level boot space.
The current 500L range includes three versions, each with its own personality and specific equipment: the Cross with its crossover looks, 25mm more ground clearance and Mode Selector; the Urban, which is perfect for city living; and the Wagon, which is available with seven seats. The range is completed by the new 500L Mirror special series with Uconnect Link technology and a 7-inch HD Live touchscreen system as standard.
The 500L is produced in one of the most advanced FCA plants in the world, Kragujevac in Serbia. Following three years of intensive work and a billion-euro investment to upgrade the infrastructure, renovate the buildings, create new production departments and install state-of-the-art machinery and manufacturing systems, the renovated plant was reopened back in April 2012.
