Singapore should make a national car – one designed and engineered by Singaporeans for Singaporeans, right here in Singapore.

My vision is of a uniquely local vehicle that is as nice as chicken rice to ride in, as spicy as chilli crab to drive, and as attractive as a Singapore Girl. The goal is to make the most Singaporean passenger car ever, which is more achievable than Singapore’s football team ever scoring a goal in the World Cup qualifiers.
To create a great national car, Singapore needs a committed committee of homegrown companies proudly doing their “National Service”. POSBank can supply the funds, JTC can erect and operate the factory, ST Kinetics can handle the engineering, Creative can provide the on-board entertainment, Osim can craft the in-car armchairs, and ComfortDelGro can take care of the aftersales and servicing. And it will be the only new car in Singapore to come with a 10-year warranty, guaranteed by the Government.
The pricing strategy will be along the lines of “Fairprice”, and the Lion City Car can be purchased with a special low-interest loan from CPF.
Our A*Star scientists, local and foreign alike, should be able to achieve a technical breakthrough or two for the Lion City Car, such as the amazing ability to run on a special blend of Tiger Beer, Newater and teh tarik.
