We all know the appeal of coupes. From Audis and Bimmers (like the 650i tested here) to the Maserati GranTurismo (MC Stradale version tested here)and Ferrari 599 Fiorano, coupes seduce with their performance and appearance.
Imagine the powerful appeal of these top-end coupes distilled into something friendlier to the wallet. If you’re willing to compromise on performance and pedigree, you can buy yourself the next best thing – an affordable Korean coupe that looks almost as good as its continental counterparts.
The Hyundai Tuscani is a good example. For around $70,000 back in 2007, you can drive something that looks and feels like the real article. It’s no ball of fire, yes, but the feel-good vibes are definitely there.
I liked the idea so much that I bought one and shamelessly nicknamed it “Ferrari 598”. In all honesty, it did bear a certain resemblance to the 599, especially after I fitted the lowering springs and slapped on a set of 18-inch wheels!
