Performance is a function of lightness, stiffness and strength, a series of parameters that allow the wheel to perform at its highest level. Lightness improves handling, stiffness makes the wheel more reactive, while strength enables it to resist mechanical stresses.
In order to attain the top performance that only a wheel such as the HyperGT HLT can accomplish, all three elements must be precisely and perfectly balanced. It is the same in racing, where a podium finish can only be achieved when the forces of man, machine and nature come together flawlessly.
The HyperGT HLT’s 10-spoke design presents the ideal solution for better force and weight distribution. The spokes spread out into a sickle shape on the reinforced outer lip, becoming an integral part of the racing wheel, strengthening it to enhance the aerodynamics and increase rigidity.
Rose markings give the HyperGT HLT its unique characteristic. These central engravings, derived from the GT3 and LMP1 racing series, achieve further weight reduction by removing excess material. Similarly, the sides of the spokes are side-cut to remove superfluous material. But apart from reducing weight, this is done for greater torsional rigidity while retaining the ability to cope with stress.
Another LMP1 racing inspiration is the HyperGT HLT’s inner rim well, which has been engineered to maximise cornering speed by providing utmost rigidity and tability to prevent traction and camber loss.
Unique Technique
At the heart of the HyperGT HLT wheel is OZ’s High Light Technology (HLT) that brings all these features together.
OZ’s exclusive HLT process tremendously improves the mechanical characteristics of the wheel and achieves the right balance between weight reduction and structural strength. The HyperGT HLT is made in Italy, TUV-certified and is in the process of NAD homologation, to ensure safety and quality standards.
