BMW and MINI’s suite of contactless services give you more time to spend on what really matters: the pursuit of joy.
According to sci-fi writer Arthur C. Clarke, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. And that law is being writ large here.
Take communication, for instance. Messages used to be sent by pigeons and news was typically heard on the radio. Now, we have the Internet, which apart from enabling us to communicate, also lets us run our lives.
With each giant leap, technology helps us accomplish more in less time.
BMW and MINI, ever at the tip of the technological spear, have taken advantage of this with their contactless services. Apart from delivering convenience at your fingertips, these services have become invaluable in today’s world.
THE REALM OF SEAMLESSNESS
At the BMW Digital Showroom on my laptop, I swoop like a hawk through the 3D-rendered Performance Motors venue, poring over the glistening models as if I was standing right next to them.
My appetite for one of Munich’s finest duly whetted, I make my way down to Alexandra Road to see, touch, and feel metal and leather on skin. It is there that I stand, jaw agape in the company of BMW’s Geniuses, hypnotised by the otherworldly vision that is the brand-new, next-century BMW iX.
Should I prefer to remain on my couch, every part of the subsequent process can be navigated through the digital realm, from consulting with my preferred BMW representative to acquiring the car through contactless payments and electronic vehicle sales agreements.
BAM! A shiny new Sunset Orange BMW 318i materialises in a puff of purple smoke at my residence. (Not really. It was delivered by a smartly dressed BMW concierge).
More than a mere good time swaddled in comfort, the sports sedan imbues me with certainty and confidence. It is as if the clarity emanating from where rubber meets road and the just-so driving position course through my spirit as well.
I step out with a surer gait and a sharper mind than when I got in. No matter the destination, I look forward to an invigorating journey. If Master Jedi Mace Windu had a car, it would be a BMW 3 series.
NO TO HASSLES, YES TO JOY
Well, maybe there is one task I would shirk driving duties for. After all, while the most striking outfit is a joy to wear, it is a chore to launder. Even if the BMW Service Centres offer an easy key drop-off box, you don’t always have the time or energy to spare.
That’s why when it’s time for scheduled vehicle care, on-site vehicle pick-up and return services can be called upon with a tap of the BMW Performance SG app. You do not even have to commute.
The same magic is also sprinkled over the colourful inhabitants of MINI Habitat. These happy, nippy and adorable machines can make their way to your doorstep for you to test-drive, and contactless transactions are available should you wish to “adopt” one.
When it comes time for maintenance, online bookings can be easily made. MINI owners can avail of on-site pick-up and drop-off services through MINI Habitat’s service team. This is a real time-saver for my wife, who drives a MINI Cooper S Clubman.
If she’s really swamped with work, my better half can still head to Habitat after office hours, park her car there and slip the key in the drop-off box. Mobile consultations with the service advisor are also available.
Like other owners, my wife enjoys her MINI every day, except the day she needs to pamper it instead of the other way around. After all, no matter how much we love our cars, there are numerous other things vying for our attention.
We have e-mails to read, meetings to attend and errands to run. For parents, childcare duties always beckon. All these have to be taken care of before we can relax and do the things we enjoy.
That’s exactly why technology exists. More important than the convenience it conveys, technology is magic because it lets us spend time on what truly matters: Pursuing joy.
