Komoco Motors, the official agent for Hyundai automobiles in Singapore, has unveiled the Palisade, the brand’s flagship SUV. It is also the largest model in their range.
The eight-seater SUV offers a versatile 2-3-3 seating arrangement, allowing users to configure the cabin to suit their needs.
Beneath the Palisade’s enormous bonnet is an equally large 3.5-litre V6 that produces 274hp. The Palisade currently starts at $216,999 with COE.
HYUNDAI PALISADE: LIVING LARGE
At nearly five metres long, 1.75m wide and with a wheelbase length of 2.9m, the Palisade is comparable in size to the BMW X7.
It rides on an all-new SUV chassis and is the successor to the Hyundai Santa Fe XL – a larger version of the Santa Fe sold overseas.
Further enhancing the Palisade’s road presence are its big grille and “crocodile” light design. Bold C-pillars and the panoramic glass side graphic help to convey the interior’s spaciousness.
The Hyundai Palisade is fitted with 20-inch wheels as standard. Torque understands that Komoco Motors wanted 21-inch wheels, but this was the largest size available.
Despite its dimensions, the Hyundai Palisade is relatively aerodynamic, with a drag coefficient of 0.33. This should help improve both refinement and fuel consumption.
SPACE AND PRACTICALITY
The Hyundai Palisade offers room for seven passengers and a versatile 2-3-3 seating configuration. The second- and third-row benches offer 60:40 split-folding capabilities, giving users a flexible space for passengers and cargo.
Boot capacity is 311 litres with the rearmost seats in place. When folded, volume increases to 704 litres. In two-seater mode, the Palisade offers 2445 litres, which is handy if you are moving house.
TECH AND SAFETY
As expected, the Hyundai Palisade comes with SmartSense, a suite of safety features designed to protect occupants.
SmartSense includes functions such as the Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor. It also has Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning and Safe Exit Assist. A head-up display helps keep the driver’s eyes on the road.

The Palisade is only available in one variant, with prices starting from $216,999 with COE.
