A Singapore-based collector has taken delivery of South-east Asia’s first Bugatti Chiron.
In a press statement, local Bugatti dealer Wearnes Automotive announced South-east Asia’s first Bugatti Chiron has been delivered to a Singaporean ‘private collector’.
No word on how much the owner paid, but the Chiron costs about S$4 million here, without options or taxes, which could push the final price easily past S$5 million.
Being left-hand-drive only, the Chiron owner will not be able to drive it here, and hence will be stored in a climate-controlled display facility at Wearnes, the dealer said.
The first of 20 units earmarked for Asian buyers, the Singapore Chiron was delivered just before the Lunar New Year.
Customisable as the 1,500hp Chiron is, the collector has decided on the Atlantic Blue and French Racing Blue paintjob seen in the photo, Wearnes said.
That colour pays homage to the original Bugatti Chiron, unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Plenty of Terre d’Or cowhide covers the interior of the Singapore owner’s Bugatti Chiron, which is otherwise bog standard (if you could even call it that).
The Singapore Chiron owner is one of a growing number of Asian hypercar customers, who are increasingly “in search of the very best”, said Victor Kwan, managing director of Wearnes Automotive’s Prestige Division.
According to Mr Kwan, people buy the Bugatti Chiron not only for its exclusivity and power but for its investment value.
“The Bugatti Chiron is one of the few cars that actually appreciate in value,” Mr Kwan said.
Wearnes Automotive holds the Bugatti franchise for South-east Asia.
Since the 2016 launch of the Chiron hypercar, the Singapore-based dealer has sold 20 units, with ten cars sold in 2018 alone.
Just 500 Chirons will be produced, with some 75 percent of series production already purchased by customers worldwide.
